Fathers Day 2010

Fathers Day was a great day today. Nothing better then seeing the family laughing, dancing and having fun. Sloane really gets a kick out of seeing Gage getting his groove on. Too funny.

Our adopted Saki

Another member of the family is Saki, my Japanese Chin. Juliet and I adopted him shortly after we bought our loft downtown. Didn't know it would be so difficult to adopt a dog. The adoption agency actually came out to visit our place and weren't going to give him to us because we don't have a fenced in yard. But they finally gave in once we convinced them there was a huge park out our front door called the Boston Common. Jeez.

The gangsters that like to spend all their free time in front of our door know Saki because he gets so scared when walking by the T-stops stairs. When Saki instantly puts on the breaks this guys yells, "daaaaamn that mutha fucka is scared as shit." That pretty much sums up Saki.

Saddleback Leather

So I have these great bags from Saddleback Leather which I love and are touted as bags your kids will fight over when you're dead. Travelers with these bags take shots of their bags in locations all over the world to put on the Saddleback site, so I decided to do the same. The first shot is on top of Mt. Hood in Oregon and the second when I was in Seoul, South Korea. More to come as the years click on.

Sloane Lia McGinnis 3 days old

Juliet took these photos of me holding Sloane when she first came home from the hospital.

Dance Central announce at E3

The other game we were working on, Dance Central, was just announced at E3 yesterday. Looks great and it's crazy how the camera tracks full body movement to make sure you are getting your groove on.

ROCK BAND 3

Finally the full feature set of the game I've been working on has been announced. Got to say I'm pretty psyched about the Real Guitar feature we added. Now you can learn to play the real thing by actually playing the real thing.

I'M COMIC SANS ASSHOLE!

Comic Sans speaks out, by Mike Lacher. Funny stuff, fonts must get so pissed about being labeled and misused by those who supposedly "know" what they are doing.

I'M COMIC SANS, ASSHOLE.

BY MIKE LACHER

- - - -

Listen up. I know the shit you've been saying behind my back. You think I'm stupid. You think I'm immature. You think I'm a malformed, pathetic excuse for a font. Well think again, nerdhole, because I'm Comic Sans, and I'm the best thing to happen to typography since Johannes fucking Gutenberg.

You don't like that your coworker used me on that note about stealing her yogurt from the break room fridge? You don't like that I'm all over your sister-in-law's blog? You don't like that I'm on the sign for that new Thai place? You think I'm pedestrian and tacky? Guess the fuck what, Picasso. We don't all have seventy-three weights of stick-up-my-ass Helvetica sitting on our seventeen-inch MacBook Pros. Sorry the entire world can't all be done in stark Eurotrash Swiss type. Sorry some people like to have fun. Sorry I'm standing in the way of your minimalist Bauhaus-esque fascist snoozefest. Maybe sometime you should take off your black turtleneck, stop compulsively adjusting your Tumblr theme, and lighten the fuck up for once.

People love me. Why? Because I'm fun. I'm the life of the party. I bring levity to any situation. Need to soften the blow of a harsh message about restroom etiquette? SLAM. There I am. Need to spice up the directions to your graduation party? WHAM. There again. Need to convey your fun-loving, approachable nature on your business' website? SMACK. Like daffodils in motherfucking spring.

When people need to kick back, have fun, and party, I will be there, unlike your pathetic fonts. While Gotham is at the science fair, I'm banging the prom queen behind the woodshop. While Avenir is practicing the clarinet, I'm shredding "Reign In Blood" on my double-necked Stratocaster. While Univers is refilling his allergy prescriptions, I'm racing my tricked-out, nitrous-laden Honda Civic against Tokyo gangsters who'll kill me if I don't cross the finish line first. I am a sans serif Superman and my only kryptonite is pretentious buzzkills like you.

It doesn't even matter what you think. You know why, jagoff? Cause I'm famous. I am on every major operating system since Microsoft fucking Bob. I'm in your signs. I'm in your browsers. I'm in your instant messengers. I'm not just a font. I am a force of motherfucking nature and I will not rest until every uptight armchair typographer cock-hat like you is surrounded by my lovable, comic-book inspired, sans-serif badassery.

Enough of this bullshit. I'm gonna go get hammered with Papyrus.

The Black Keys - Too Afraid To Love You (Live in Studio)

Big Muff Pi

Took me too long to finally get around to pick one of these up. Tonight was the night.

Disaster Transport

Had to get another EarthQuaker Devices pedal, the Disaster Transport. I've been seriously lacking a good echo/delay pedal. The Tube Echo I currently use hasn't been cutting it. This will be number 3 on the pedal board from EarthQuaker. I've been using the Hoof for a couple years along with the Dirt Transmitter. Can't wait to play through this guy.

Picked up a 3-loop with Bypass and Silent Tuner switch

I was having a lot of problems with some of my vintage pedals without true bypass causing all sorts of signal loss. This bad boy from Loop-Masters allows 3 different effects chains for rythme, lead and clean at the touch of a button. Can turn them all off or tune in silence. So much easier.
